Celebrate craftsmanship and all things handmade! During Textiles and Trades Weekend, the Village’s craftspeople will showcase their skills by crafting more complicated or unique items not usually displayed in the Village.

Weekend Highlights include:
- Watch a barrel firing demonstration at the Cooper Shop (Saturday only)
- Visit with the New England Lace Group and learn about the intricate process of making lace
- See a demonstration of pit firing, a pottery technique that dates back to ancient times (Saturday only)
- Take a tour of the Herb Garden and learn about various plants that were used in textiles as dyes, fibers, and fragrance
- See a shoemaker work on a woman’s slipper (Sunday only)
- View artifacts related to historical clothing and trades from the OSV Museum Collection
- Learn about early 19th-century ladies’ pockets and view samples from the OSV Museum Collection
- Chat with a printer and see how books were printed in the 1830s.
- See progress on piecing a quilt top made from old clothing
