Local historian and author Walter J. “Wally” Hersee will present his recently published book, To Defend All That Is Dear: Sturbridge Soldiers in the Revolution, on Thursday, May 28 at 7 PM at the Publick House in Sturbridge.

Sponsored by the Sturbridge Historical Society, the program will explore Hersee’s research into previously overlooked Revolutionary War soldiers connected to Sturbridge, including men omitted from monuments, misidentified in town histories, or lost to archival errors.

Hersee’s books will be available for sale at the event. This program is free and open to the public.
