Friends of Sturbridge Trails 6th Annual Ice Carving Event

About

The Friends of Sturbridge Trails invites visitors and locals alike to enjoy its 6th Annual Ice Carving Event, a free winter tradition that turns the Riverlands Trail into a glowing outdoor art gallery. Participants can reserve a complimentary block of ice, create a sculpture at home with family or friends, and then display it along the trail. This year’s patriotic theme, “Celebrating Our 250th Anniversary,” will be highlighted during an evening stroll on Saturday, February 14, 2026, featuring professional ice carving demonstrations, judged sculptures, and illuminated displays. Free hot chocolate and coffee will be available, along with a warming fire for a cozy winter experience. Ice blocks must be reserved by February 9, with pickup on February 11 at the Riverlands, 52 Stallion Hill Rd. Parking is available across the street at Old Sturbridge Village, and sculptures will remain on display until weather conditions melt them away — making this a festive and memorable winter outing for all ages
