DESCRIPTION:The 5th Annual “Running Out of Summer” 5K is being held to benefit the Second Chance Animal Shelter in East Brookfield\, MA. This event is being held in partnership with Rapscallion Brewery and Brimfield Winery and Cidery.   The race will be followed by food\, drinks\, and fun at the Brimfield Winery and Cidery.  The event will offer a free drink token after registering which can help pay for a specially brewed “Running Out of Summer” Ale.  Participants will be able to meet and greet adoptable dogs from the shelter. Raffles will be held.  Live music and food trucks will be on hand.

Fall militia musters often saw the various militia companies of several towns coming together for a regimental muster. These would have been grand spectacles with townspeople coming out to view visiting militia companies in their dashing uniforms. Come and join us for our fall muster day and cheer on your favorite militia company! \n\nTalk to members of two uniformed volunteer militia companies.\nListen to early 19th-century martial music.\nWatch musket and cannon firing demonstrations\nSee a “Sham Fight” as rival militia companies square off against each other in the field.\nOur young visitors will get the chance to learn early 19th-century drill and marching with the militia officer’s instruction and a toy gun.\nSee the “striped pig” and learn how it was used to skirt the early 19th-century liquor laws.\nJoin a group of ladies for “Ardent Spirits” as they discuss their concerns about temperance\, how alcohol affects them and their families\, and if starting a Ladies Temperance Society in Sturbridge is a good idea.

A trip to Sedona\, AZ inspired her first novel Jeep Tour.
