Talking History: “The Blackstone Canal: Artery of the Commonwealth”
About
Come and visit Publick House where Tom Kelleher, currently Historian and Curator of Mechanical Arts at Old Sturbridge Village, will discuss the transportation revolution that transformed the landscape, economy, and everyday lives of early 19th century New Englanders, as embodied by the Blackstone Canal. Though short-lived, this Canal permanently changed central Massachusetts. This program is presented by the Sturbridge Historical Society.
